Over the past year, the British American Business Council of Greater Philadelphia has worked to build a Young Professionals Group made up of members under the age of 40 who are looking to develop valuable business contacts within the British American Business community and to exchange ideas and information with a cross section of industry professionals, trade and governmental interests.

As a BABCYPG leader, we decided to plan our second event around a discussion featuring four panelists sharing their stories of moving from the UK to the US or vice versa. Our goal was to start a conversation with young members about the differences between the UK and US, culturally and professionally, as well as offer advice on survival techniques. I-SITE CEO and BABC Board Member, Ian Cross joined fellow panelists and friends Rich Bartlett, President of Bartlett & Company, Inc., Luke Butler, Chief of Staff to the Deputy Mayor for Economic Development for the City of Philadelphia and James Hennessy, Executive Chef, Lincoln Financial Field, Representative Chef at the 2012 London Olympics, ARAMARK to share their personal, cultural and professional experiences between both countries.

Held at The Twisted Tail, a Southern inspired Bourbon House & Juke Joint, guests had the chance to enjoy delicious food and drink while listening in on the discussion and asking questions to all panelists about their experiences. Moderated by the BABC’s own, Howard Silverstone of Forensic Resolutions, the event was a great success that we hope to share with young members again. Follow the BABC to keep up with the latest events and look out for the next BABCYPG event!
