Sprout Kindest Kid Holiday Campaign

Pre-school TV channel Sprout turned to I-SITE to create a fun campaign for the 2013 Holiday season that would feature an email and microsite. The goal of the program was to raise awareness of Sprout’s Kindest Kid contest with business partners and increase contest votes.

For the overall campaign, the I-SITE and Sprout team came up with the concept of an illustrated home that would feature photographs of the kindest kids finalists and a call to action to vote for the winner. The website built in HTML5 uses parallax scrolling and features an array of original illustrations by Monica Marziani.

Visitors to the microsite scroll from the front door of the home to the living room fireplace where there is an an invitation to vote for one of the four Kindest Kid finalists. On the journey through the home photographs of the finalists appear along with a number of fun holiday elements. I-SITE also designed and developed an HTML email that links to the microsite.

The campaign was a great success for Sprout and received accolades including being recognized as Best Family Website at the 2014 Internet Advertising Competition Awards.

LEGO Duplo TV Promo

I-SITE has been working with extensively with pre-school TV channel Sprout on a variety of mobile apps, microsites and promos. In Fall 2012 Sprout turned to the I-SITE team to flex some creative muscle to and conceive and develop a fun 10-second Happy Holidays promo for the holiday season brought to you by Lego and Sprout. The I-SITE team focused on brainstorming holiday-themed concepts that elicit the fun of building with LEGO Duplo• without showing the product itself.

sprout_lego_animationThe result was the award-winning promo that aired first during the 2012 season and due to its popularity as a rerun in the 2013 holiday season. The animation features I-SITE feathered friends the penguins on a mission to complete an ice castle.

Build A Bird App

As techies, designers and major supporters of STEM education we were excited when education nonprofit Iridescent Learning approached us to design and develop a mobile app that teaches children and all bird lovers about different types of birds, their habitats and behaviors.

The “Build” part of the app provides an opportunity for the user to test their learning by creating a bird that is adapted to a specific environment. On completion the user can ‘fly’ the bird through its natural environment.

buildbirdTo create the rich, illustrative design we worked with the illustrations of Ioana and videos from our friends at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. We designed the app to appeal to the younger demographic, as well as to not distract from the important learning aspect.

Build a Bird was featured in the Apps Store’s ‘New and Newsworthy’ section and downloaded over 50,000 times.

TurboQuo Infomercial

There must be a better way! Or so the I-SITE team thought when they came up with the idea for the award-winning TurboQuo informercial. The video parodies the glut of overly complicated and often absurd processes that tech firms create and yes there is a tad of self ridicule with the tip of the hat to I-SITE’s very own trademarked I-QUO® process.

The team drew on questionable acting ability, marginal scriptwriting experience, classy props and overuse of the office green screen. After an intense shoot we added a zippy soundtrack, a call-in number with voicemail and some adept editing in Final Cut Pro from Rich Gretzinger and Leslie Birch of Human+Nature.

turboquo_screensIf you stop by the office we’ll be more than happy to show you the TurboQuo sponge, if its not being used at the time. TurboQuo secured the I-SITE team with a second consecutive Best Marketing Online Video at the 2012 Internet Advertising Competition!

Holiday Confessionals Video

Combine fine beer, eclectic Philadelphians and what do you get? I-SITE’s award-winning Holiday Confessionals video of course!

Maintaining the team’s run of producing finely-crafted original content for friends and clients, the 2010 offering was conceived after deciding to host local beer celebs Two Guys on Beer at the I-SITE office to taste and compare an East Coast and a West Coast holiday ale. A wide range of Philadelphians were then invited to the tasting unaware that after ‘a couple’ they would be ushered into a small room to share an anecdote or two.

front-graphic-v2The loosely scripted video truly came together in the editing suite with the help of local film maker Demian Fenton, a cameo by Rosie the pug and an ending resplendent with Glen Campbell’s Rhinestone Cowboy.

Sing along now and remember the trials and tribulations of holidays past!

Sprout Family Challenge App

Sprout contacted the I-SITE team to create a media rich mobile app to encourage both kids and parents to complete healthy challenges together. The app named Family Challenge is  part of a larger ‘healthy living’ initiative called “Be Kind to Yourself“. The app utilizes themes from both Sprout and Iceland-based children’s television program LazyTown programming and presents a parent-child team with ten healthy challenges. Each challenge is comprised of an activity that focuses on healthy eating or exercise. After a parent-child team has completed the activity, they mark it as complete and move on to the next activity. At the completion of a set number of challenges, the parent-child team wins an ‘incentive’ in the form of a music video, theme song or a themed photo frame wallpaper.

The project from concept to development to wireframing to design was highly collaborative. Highlights include:

  • Rewards you with videos and other multimedia on reaching milestones
  • Creation of custom wallpapers with users own photos that can be shared through Facebook
  • Tracks your progress in with a Energy Meter and ‘Trophy Case’
  • Reminders to complete the next challenge

The Family Challenge App App received notable awards including Best Family Mobile App at the 2013 IAC Awards. Post release the I-SITE team continued to update the App and issue new releases.
